The Easiest and Most Refreshing Watermelon Slush

I’ve had the same blender since college. It was some $20 cheap-o blender that didn’t even have the name brand on it anywhere. It worked well enough to make margaritas and smoothies, as long as I didn’t mind having large chunks of ice in my margaritas or smoothies. I finally bought my first incredibly nice blender, a Ninja! Isn’t it pretty??

I recently detailed my love of watermelon here. When I’m not scarfing down watermelon as it is, I love to freeze it and blend it into a simple and delicious watermelon slushie as my go-to summer drink.

When I say simple, I mean really simple. It has 3 ingredients:

  • Frozen watermelon cubes
  • Lime juice
  • Water

  1. Start by freezing watermelon cubes. They freeze best if they’re spread out on a pan and placed in the freezer. Then you can put the cubes into a container and store in the freezer once the cubes are frozen.
  2. Put a few frozen watermelon cubes, lime juice to taste, and water. Blend for a few seconds until smooth. You may need to add more water as you blend the watermelon to get a consistency you like.

That’s it! Just a few seconds and you have a delightfully refreshing summer drink! Enjoy!
